Chris Vanhaverbeke

Chris’ passion for guitar began in the 80’s with rock and blues, and he quickly progressed to playing professionally in multiple bands. In the 90's, he started studying classical guitar with the renowned University of Toronto professor Eli Kasner. He continued his studies with Dr. Jeff McFaddon and earned his Associate Teacher of the Royal Conservatory of Music (A.R.C.T.) diploma for classical guitar. His music degree from York University focused on pedagogy and inspired him to begin a career as a full-time guitar teacher in 2002.

Over the years, Chris has developed a teaching philosophy centered on individualized learning. He knows every student is unique—each with their own musical goals, learning style, and challenges. His broad skill set and depth of experience are evident in his ability to teach all genres, including classical, jazz, and pop music.

With hundreds of students over the years, Chris’s results speak for themselves. Students appreciate his patience, clear communication, and support throughout their musical journey. Whether you’re a beginner or advanced player, Chris is a mentor and advocate for lifelong learning who can help you unlock your musical potential.
